Participate Learning For New Economics
Feb 1-4 2021
Prof. Dr. Tang Zhimin, Director of CASPIM, and founding Dean of International College of PIM,
conducted a four day course with a brand new learning approach for iMBA students from China.
The new approach is called “Participative Learning” where students participate in setting the
learning objective and study plan based on their own career inspiration. They will conduct
research themselves for key concepts under guidance. Each sessions is concluded with a
discussion on cases and implications for business, as well as assessment on the learning
outcome.
Covid 19 speeded up the digital transformation and intensified the competition between
education/training service providers when most contents are delivered on line. What will be the
value of local universities vis-à-vis big brands abroad? Prof. Dr. Tang believes it is built upon three
pillars: “identifying the need of student and offering a personalized learning package”, “building
community of learner companions” and “interfacing with business and practitioner”.
“Participative Learning”. is a trendy approach in this direction.
