Khun Korsak Chairasmisak, Chairman of Executive Committee of CP All, Co-Vice Chairman
CP Group, and Father of GO community in Thailand revealed the secret of success from the
learning in practicing GO, the oldest board game continuously played from more than 2,500 years
ago in China, in a course of “Oriental Wisdom for Management”.
The course is developed and conducted by Prof. Dr. Tang Zhimin, Director of CASPIM, and
founding Dean of International College of PIM, under the inspiration of the book “Oriental CEO”
authored by Khun Korsak. Students will learn to play GO and reflect on its implications for
management. The course also introduces the “Oriental Classics” in Confucianism, Taoism and
Buddhism; discusses “Oriental Wisdom in Practice” in the book “Art of War”, its moral dilemmas,
as well as the “art of talent selection”. It concludes with a comparison on “Western and Oriental
traditions in management” in terms of Ontology, Epistemology, Methodology and Axiology. In the
arena of “public administration”, a “paradigm shift” is called for to move away from ideology
rivalry between “democracy” and “authoritarianism”, towards a dialogue for “effective
governance”. The course is a part of the MBA curriculum in PIM and has been delivered as a
separate training program for students and business practitioners abroad.
